«Prometey» presented its developments at the Forum «Army-2016»
The representatives of FSUE CRISM «Prometey» took an active part in the 2nd International Military-Technical Forum «Army-2016» held on 6-11 September in the Patriot Expocenter, Kubinka, Moscow Region
For the first time the Institute specialists presented their developments at the topmost Russian exhibition of weapons and military equipment which brought together scientists, researchers and industrialists involved in the defense sector as well as potential defense users.
The forum included an extensive business programme. The representatives of «Prometey» participated in the round table «Private Investments and PPPs in Defense Industry: Participants, Mechanisms, Perspectives» where methods and prospects of attracting investments into the defense-industrial sector, public-private partnership and life cycle contracts in the defense-industrial sector, usability of special contracts and other topical matters were discussed.
Pavel Kuznetsov, Head of the Structural Nanomaterials Research and Development Centre of «Prometey» and Olga Vasilieva, Head of Laboratory, took part in the Conference «Magnets and Magnetic Systems», organized as part of the Forum. Olga Vasilieva presented a paper «Highly Effective Shielding Structures Based on Magnetically Soft Alloys for Protection of Soft Cable Paths». She informed about modular cable path shielding structures developed by «Prometey» which are based on magnetically soft amorphous materials and built-in transformer substations.
The display booth of «Prometey» was located in the topic zone «Arctic». It covered information on materials used for ice navigation vessels, gas carriers, offshore structures, facilities and equipment for the Arctic development. Visitors to the booth were acquainted with materials used for deep-water vehicles, the range of vessels constructed with aluminium alloys and products made of antifriction carbon-reinforced plastics developed in «Prometey». Those who attended the exhibition were shown such significant developments by «Prometey» as materials for building the offshore ice-resistant stationary platform «Prirazlomnaya» and steels for nuclear-powered ice-breaker reactors.
The representatives of «Prometey» distributed booklets including information on titanium alloys for marine technology and nuclear power engineering, polymeric composites, welding consumables, additive technologies developed in the Structural Nanomaterials Research and Development Centre of «Prometey». During the exhibition some films on FSUE CRISM «Prometey» and its materials were shown.
